Swim Series Activation

Water Safety Series Event at Howard University
Event Details

MSCDA encourages safe and supportive opportunities for individuals living with sickle cell disease to stay active and learn important life skills such as swimming.

Swimming can be beneficial for overall health and wellness when proper precautions are taken. It is important for individuals living with sickle cell disease to remain hydrated, avoid overexertion, and be mindful of temperature changes, as extreme cold can sometimes trigger complications.

This program provides an opportunity for participants and families to learn water safety skills in a supportive environment while promoting confidence and physical activity.

Participants should always consult with their healthcare provider regarding appropriate activity levels.

Registration is required.

The Maryland Sickle Cell Disease Association, Inc. (MSCDA) is a 501 (c)(3), tax exempt non profit organization that was incorporated in 2006.
